Maintenance Planner

Job title: Maintenance Specialist
Work Schedule: 8AM-4PM (Sunday to Thursday)
Pay: $25 per hour.
Responsibilities:
- Principal contact for any work that is required and ensures constant communication with the requester.
- Purchase maintenance-related spare parts inventory, consumables and services.
- Manage spare parts inventory to minimize cycle count deficiencies
- Follow-up on all delinquent purchase orders with suppliers and research alternate parts
- Provide monthly reports on inventory value, and cycle counts and adjustments
- Communicate between all facets of a 24/7 manufacturing environment to schedule and prioritize all maintenance assignments.
- Craft labour estimates, ensuring all resources and parts are available before work order is scheduled.
- Develop long & short range plans including complete job packages.
- Ensure proper follow-up and close out of every job.
- Develop & analyze KPI reports
- Documentation control and analysis as it pertains to food safety, health & safety, security, and the environment.
- Work closely with department to establish PM programs and predictive PM’s, analysis of equipment history, and repetitive failure analysis.
- Develop, implement and review of PM checklist/schedule
- Review and plan preventive and corrective maintenance requests
- Assist in development & implementation of capital projects
- Estimate time and costs required for project executions
- Follow-up on department’s work order (Maintenance, Quality, H&S, Production, etc.) and validate planned timelines
- Bring technical support to the Maintenance teams, to ensure optimization
- Create, analyze and update the Oracle system
- Participate in continuous improvement project teams, as required
- Identify and resolve problems, recommending improvements in the planning process and ensure routine schedules
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by ensuring plant is in accordance with governing practices, codes and regulations.
- Prioritize and schedule work backlogs by type and status
- Produce planned work schedules for Maintenance Supervisors
- Conduct follow-up to ensure satisfactory completion of required work
- Understand and practice all Health and Safety, GMP and Food Safety policies and regulations
- Manage the activities of the stock room coordinator
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Professional training or relevant post secondary education
- 2-3 years experience in a maintenance planning department
- Experience in a food, beverage or packaged goods industry is a definite asset
- Solid computer skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook).
- Exposure to Oracle systems is an asset.
- Ability to communicate and work with all relevant associates, stakeholders and resources in a frequently changing and challenging environment
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task
- Strong analytical skills and detailed oriented.
- Strong organization skills with sound prioritizing abilities.
