SENIOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER & ESTIMATOR

North Vancouver, BC

We are a well-established commercial construction company located in North Vancouver, founded in 1944. We specialize in mid-size renovations—including financial institutions, health care facilities, heritage restoration, and low-rise buildings throughout the Lower Mainland—and take pride in providing exceptional service and quality work. Typical projects range from $1M to $30M.

This is a Senior Position for a self-motivated professional who can work independently. Our Project Managers typically estimate and manage each project from start through to completion.  Each Project Manager will generally only run two to three projects at a time.

 

Responsibilities

  • Budgeting, Estimating, and Tendering: Lead take-offs and pricing of projects.
  • Analysis: Analyze sub-trade quotations for accuracy, compliance, and risk assessment.
  • Procurement: Award trade contracts and issue purchase orders.
  • Scheduling: Prepare and maintain project schedules using MS Project.
  • Site Leadership: Run site meetings, compile/distribute minutes, and mentor site personnel.
  • Cost Management: Direct pricing, including CCNs and CDs.
  • Quality Control: Work closely with the consultant team and site superintendents to maintain schedule and quality.
  • Relationship Management: Establish professional relationships with clients and consultants to maintain high satisfaction.
  • Safety: Comply with and administer to the established safety program.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience: 10+ years of proven project coordinator/project manager experience in commercial/institutional projects.
  • Sector Expertise: Strong focus on projects in health care, schools, and tenant improvements. Experience in "live environment" renovations is essential.
  • Education: Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, BCIT Diploma, or equivalent. 
  • Software Proficiency: Procore is our primary tool. General IT proficiency with the MS Office suite is required, and experience with Jonas is a significant asset.
  • Contract Knowledge: Strong understanding of CCDC contracts (specifically CCDC-2 and CCDC-5b), specifications, and drawings.
  • Communication: Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.
