Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to lead and streamline our daily plumbing and heating operations. This role is instrumental in ensuring smooth workflow, superior service delivery, and overall operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, a deep understanding of the construction or trade service industry, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company goals to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Daily Oversight: Supervise and coordinate all daily plumbing and HVAC field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage field technicians and administrative staff, fostering a culture of accountability, quality, and teamwork.
- Financial Oversight: Prepare and manage operational budgets, forecasts, and schedules; oversee purchasing, inventory control, and job costing.
- KPI Monitoring: Track key performance indicators to evaluate service delivery, response times, and team productivity. Proactively address performance gaps.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with dispatch, sales, and customer service teams to ensure a seamless and responsive client experience.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure full compliance with plumbing and heating codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Problem Resolution: Quickly respond to operational challenges and customer concerns to minimize service disruption.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist on hiring new staff and manage onboarding and training processes to ensure quick integration into the team.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in operations management, preferably within the plumbing, heating, or construction trades.
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities with success in managing field and office teams.
- Solid understanding of project management, inventory systems, and field service logistics.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with industry-specific software (e.g., Procore, ServiceTitan, HouseCall Pro or equivalent) is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Other industry certifications considered an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to visit job sites.
Position Details
- Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
- Expected Hours: Minimum 44 hours/week
- Pay Range: $60,000.00–$100,000.00 annually

- Based in Calgary, AB (T2B 3N4) – candidates must be able to reliably commute or relocate prior to starting.
