Our facilities specialize in precision CNC machining and sheet metal fabrication, along with electromechanical assemblies and coating. We are AS9100 certified. We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team, reporting to the Director of Quality. The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for monitoring and verifying products at various stages of production for fabricated and machined metal and plastic products by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assistance in managing and auditing the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) per customer and/or AS9100/ISO 9000 requirements
- Develop quality plans, FMEA, and control plans, along with preparing documentation needed for PPAP requirements, etc.
- Resolve customer quality complaints and concerns, and internal issues promptly and efficiently.
- Regular Product/Customer Quality Performance reporting. Analyze performance data to prioritize and execute improvement activities. (KPI)
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and make recommendations to enhance quality control measures.
- Review all data obtained during all quality control activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures and report any opportunities for improvement.
- Generate quality procedures and documentation to support QMS registrations and customer requirements.
- Assist Quality Management with periodic audits
- Completed the desired quality documentation and data, on First Article Inspection Report (FAI), PPAP, Quality Performance Reports, Inspection Logs and Records, etc.
- Performing dimensional and visual inspection of manufactured components and assemblies against the drawings and specifications.
- Enforce company standards regarding quality, safety and security regulations, environmental compliance, and good housekeeping practices.
- Assist in the Supplier Quality Management Process.
- Perform other duties within your skill set as assigned by Management.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Post-secondary education (University or College Degree) in Mechanical/Industrial /Quality engineering or similar disciplines preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in an ISO9001 (or AS9100) certified environment in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Analytical mindset with good problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail, with a strong understanding of the use of quality analytical tools.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision, as well as able to work in a team environment.
- Able to conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Good working knowledge of GD &T, FMEA, Control plans and Product Quality/Program Quality Plans.
- Good computer literacy and ability to work with computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiar with working with ERP systems, prefer VISUAL INFO.
- Outstanding organizational skills, enabling effective multitasking and project management.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and specifications into our process and quality plans.
Additional Skills/Training (not mandatory but an asset):
- ASQ certifications an asset
- Completion of a college program in Quality Assurance
- Solid knowledge in metal manufacturing
- Use of SolidWorks is an asset.
