We are looking for a skilled, dedicated person to fill the position of Handheld Power Equipment Technician / Parts Rep at our Middleton, NS location.
Purpose:
The Handheld Power Equipment Technician is responsible for selling, receiving, and delivery of parts and accessories. This role will also be required to demonstrate proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a variety of outdoor power equipment, as well as being a source of information for customers and fellow team members regarding the purchase and upkeep of such equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Promotes and sells products and/or services to meet customer needs, offering product knowledge and recommendations
- Records all sales and/or counter transactions that occur
- Assist with inventory control (this includes all Stihl/Husqvarna products on the floor and in the back stock room)
- Assist with merchandising and maintaining product displays. Ensure all Stihl/Husqvarna signage is current in the department and throughout the rest of the store.
- Diagnose problems and determine what repairs are needed on Stihl/Husqvarna Power Equipment (Disassemble, repair, and reassemble the components and machines)
- Repair and maintenance of Stihl equipment within tight schedules
- Maintain consistent communication with the customer in regard to repair and maintenance of Stihl equipment (including warranty claims)
- Prepare all forms including intake forms, work order forms with pricing, product/parts orders, inventories, etc.
- Supplies Service Technicians with parts as required
- Verifies receipting-in of shipments
- Follows up on shortages and expedites issues by reporting to the manager
- Assists in maintaining all departmental tools, equipment, and vehicles are in good working order
- Assists in maintaining department reports
- Assists in working on any reports, projects or parts related duties given by Parts Manager
- Work with other departments as directed by your Parts Manager
Requirements:
- Ability to diagnose and repair small gas engines
- Basic data entry and keyboarding skills
- Basic parts and machinery knowledge
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 75 lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Fork lift license an asset
