We're currently seeking a dedicated Agricultural Equipment Technician (Mechanic) to join our Stratford, PEI team.
Purpose:
The Agricultural Equipment Technician independently performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment and implements. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment and established Precision Ag products
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
- May attach components and adjust new farm equipment
- Participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge, must be willing to travel
- Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
- Maintain condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
- Maintain a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
- Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
- Complete all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
- Work with other departments as directed by your Service Manager
- Encourage and support teamwork, workplace safety and cooperative fun work environment
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience performing service repairs
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Diesel Mechanic Red Seal certification and/or Apprenticeship preferred
- Valid driver’s license.
- Forklift license an asset.
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment
- Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment
- Ability to use basic computer functions
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly

Hours: 40-44 hours/week
Wage range: $20/hr-$32/hr
